About Dylan

I hail from Portland, OR.
My mother would say I had my first break into the theatre at the age of 5 when I played the titular role in the school play "The Gingerbread Man". Officially, I'd say I would say my first real play was "The Good Person of Szechuan" at the Vancouver School of Arts and Academics; a magnet-style school program that supported the artistic pursuits of the students.
While in high school, I was selected to participate in the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Seminar for High School Juniors, and immersive two-week program that allowed young theatre artists to collaborate with other teens and festival staff.
After high school I attended Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA where I was drawn to directing and the Original Works program and ultimately graduated magna cum laude with a BFA in Theatre.
Right out of college, I earned a spot as one of two Directing Interns with the Milwaukee Repertory Theater in Milwaukee, WI. In that position I served as an assistant to some of the nation's top regional directors, managing understudy rehearsals and directing the Acting Interns in small projects and stages readings throughout the season.
After a few years of bouncing around the country, including serving as Producing Artistic Director of the fringe Seattle theatre company, Pipe Dream Productions, I returned to the Milwaukee Rep to work as the Artistic Administrator to Mark Clements and the Artistic staff. While in Milwaukee, I've been able to enjoy a day-job in one of the finest theatres in the country without having to give up my work as a freelance director in the Milwaukee area theatre scene.
Covid-19 and 2020 took a chunk out of everyone's normalcy, myself included. I moved back to the Pacific Northwest to see what new horizons waited for me in a post-pandemic world. Fingers crossed for the future!
